Delinquent Taxes
We love Texas but we hate taxes.
But let’s face it, unpaid property taxes will make you lose your house.
What Happens If You Don’t Pay Property Taxes
The county will place a tax lien on your property.
Simply put, a tax lien is a document filed with the county government alerting the general public that you have an unpaid debt. If the property will be foreclosed on (usually at a very low price just to cover the property tax) you will have no say in the sale.
If you have any equity in the property, you will lose everything.
